Summary: I chose SMP after trying Minoxidil, PRP, LLLT, and supplements, which weren’t working for me. He even showed his work and studio. He gave me a lot of time to think this through and even discouraged me from getting it when he sensed my hesitation. Very professional. I had 3 sessions with James, spaced 1 month apart to give my scalp time to heal and based on my schedule. James was very considerate of my job and accommodated my request for privacy. I respected his work ethic, professionalism and artistry and gave him all the time he needed to perfect his work as he reconstructed my hairline. He took several photos to evaluate and improve the outcome as each session progressed. Once the sessions were completed, we gave it a few months to let the pigments settle. James gave me strict instructions to follow and aftercare options to consider as my scalp healed. I used mattifying lotion, anti-shine and UV protection to preserve his work and my skin. The result was so incredible that it went beyond enhancing my scalp to resembling a real scalp. It’s undetectable! After that, things started getting unreal, for good, I think. First came the compliments, which James prepped me for: I got asked, “Why did you shave your head?” Then it went next level, “So, when are you growing your hair?” Then doctors started asking, “Why get a hair transplant when you’re just going to shave your head?” There are many more instances, but all this proves that James creates (and recreates) hairlines that go beyond just SMP; his work seamlessly transitions to realistic hair that becomes subtle and natural-looking while blending in to bring the focus back to a person’s face. I know that having hair, especially a well-defined hairline, can make one look younger. But I wasn’t ready to get pegged for being half my age! And getting called by security and reception at work because they thought I was a 20+ year old is truly something! James also informed me of the importance of regular touch-ups to maintain the look and realism of my SMP, and future sessions are dependent on my body’s ability to metabolize the pigments. Since I’m intensely active, he agreed to review my scalp annually to establish a baseline. Lastly, I didn’t bother haggling about his fees.
