James is a true pro: an artist who is truly committed to high-quality SMP and to educating new practitioners and clients alike. I thought I'd done my homework on SMP, but I ended up getting a first session from a practitioner who prioritizes money over quality and who advertises great work but does not deliver; the session lasted barely 90min and the result was uneven, blotchy pigmentation that didn't match my actual hair color. It messed me up, because I had to hide under a hat and didn't know what to do next. Due diligence and buyer beware: these are words to live by if you're thinking about SMP. I sought out James' insight and am now on the right path. He took the time, even on his day off, to meet me at his amazing studio so that he could examine the bad SMP himself, show me what proper technique looks like, and provide options. It was fixable, he said, but he rightly advised that laser removal would be the best choice because a blank canvas leads to optimal results. At James' recommendation, I booked with Lee at Laser Away Ink in Cambridge, who did a fantastic job at removing the pigment. I'm on the right path now, thanks to the first-rate work that James and Lee provide. If you've had bad SMP and need an expert perspective from a practitioner who actually cares about your scalp, or if you're looking into SMP for the first time, do yourself a favor and book a consultation with James.
I got my training at Enhance Pigment Academy the instructor James and Benji are very knowledgeable and helpful explaining the techniques and the 3 day classes was not rush.
